Today is Chap Goh Mei, the 15th and last day of Chinese New Year celebrations. It’s also known as the Spring Lantern Festival (not to be confused with the lantern light-ups during Mid-Autumn Festival).
Traditionally, houses and streets would be decorated with lanterns, sometimes with riddles attached for people to solve. The lanterns, usually red, represent prosperity and good fortune – which I hope Singapore will enjoy for many years to come. Wishing everyone a happy Chap Goh Mei! 祝大家元宵节快乐!– LHL
